AmravatiGautam Buddha, the spiritual leader of Buddhism was born in Lumbini in Nepal. He was born into a royal Family of Nepal. His father thought that he would be one of the greatest warriors, but soon at age of 29, he abandoned all the worldly pleasures and left for his self-attainment of ultimate spiritual enlightenment. He went to Bodhgaya, where he attained the ultimate enlightenment by undergoing a vigorous meditation under the Holy Bodhi Tree. Gradually, he started his journey to various places in and around India, Nepal, Bhutan, preaching his ardent followers and devotees of his experience. Thereafter, Buddhism started to spread.
