Thimpu the capital city of Bhutan and country centre of administration. It is the place of revered Bhutanese Family, Government & Judiciary. Changangkha Temple
This is located in Thimpu valleys and was built in the 15th century and dedicated in the memory of Avalokiteshvara, a compassionate Buddhist follower. This is also one of the oldest Temple in the country.
Dechen Phodrang, Thimphu
It is one of the Buddhist Monastery in Bhutan founded in the year 1971. It is the monastic school in Bhutan with the sole objective to protect the Artefacts of Bhutan.
Zangdopelri Temple
It is ordinarily known to be a place where the Buddhist Group meetings take place. This was built in the year of 1960’s preserving the Art treasures. This makes this place so special and unique, as the place of this temple was previously a battleground. It was built only to preserve the sanctity of the warriors in order to pacify the energies.
Tango Monastery, Thimphu
Located in the north of city of Thimpu was established by Lama Gyalwa Lhanampa in the 12th century is a major Buddhist site to explore.
Chagri Dorjeden Monastery, Thimphu
This Buddhist monastery is just 15 kilometres from the Thimpu valley, established by Zhabdrung Ngawang Mamgyal in the year 1620. This is also named as Cheri Monastery by the local people of Bhutan, which has developed into a Buddhist learning centre. The monastery specialises in the drukpa Kagyu, a monastic order. It was started in this very monastery for the first time by the devotees and Buddhist monks.
